about Doug De Boer,
I graduated from Ocheyedan (Iowa) High School back in '80 (That's 1980, not 1880), and Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa in 1984. I started teaching in the Lakota District until they started sharing with the Buffalo Center-Rake Community School in 1987. I have been a part of this district ever since. Since there is no longer a school in Ocheyedan or Lakota, and Westmar has also closed its doors, it is a pretty good bet that when I leave North Iowa this school will close also.
I am paid to teach high school math, although my expertise seems to be more putting students to sleep. My hobbies include fantasy football and annoying the students in my classes. My wife, JoAnn, teaches high school English (I know, try not to laugh) here at North Iowa. I have two children, Abbey Gerzema and Stephanie De Boer.
