Welcome to Mrs. Recker's Webpage!
This website will tell you a little bit about me, my family, and the courses I'll be teaching this year.
This site will also contain a general calendar that will apply to all students. Check at least weekly to see if there are any new updates for you. Make sure to check out your class website calendar daily to see changes made specifically for that class.
My husband, Jeff, and I relocated to Britt in the fall of 2007, when he accepted the high school principal position at West Hancock. I spent the 07-08 school year subbing in various positions, and was very excited when the opportunity came up to teach at North Iowa. I have three children at home: Brody, who is 3 and will start preschool this year; Callie, who is 2; and Grace, who is six months old and on the move!
I am excited to be teaching English 10, Writing and Technology, Independent Reading, and Narrative & Expository Writing this year. I am also very excited to be the Student Council adviser this year. I enjoy helping students to be advocates for their school and work to see that it be the best experience it can be for them.
I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2004. (Go Panthers!) I previously taught two years at Allamakee Community Schools in Waukon, Iowa, where I taught various high school English courses, 7th grade English, was assistant musical director, and co-adviser of the high school student council.
I enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors, boating, swimming, baking and cooking, and reading.
Have a great year!
