Bienvenidos a EspaƱol

Today we are all living in a world where we can no longer be ignorant of others' languages and cultures.  Learning another language increases our awareness of this even smaller world.  Their skills and understanding develop through meaningful communicative activities centered around real life situations and everyday common topics.

Spanish students develop linguistic proficiency through certain tasks depending on their level, as:

1.  Students will engage in conversation, provide and obtain information, express feelings and emotions, and exchange opinions

2.  Students will be aable to understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics.

     -read and interpret a story and informational handouts and internet links

     -write informational report about readings and observations

3.  Students will present information, conceptions and ideas to an audience of listeners or readers on a variety of topics.

4.  Students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the practices and perspectives of the culturer studied

     -compare and contrast Hispanic holidays, ethnic groups, cities, and countries

5.   Students will reinforce and further their knowledge of other disciplines through foreign languages
