8th Grade 3 – Dimensional Art Class
Three-dimensional art meets every other day for one semester. All projects are intended to help the student become more self-responsible with time and materials, to cooperate with others, to problem solve, as well as to provide opportunity for developing lifelong interests. Since this is a transition year, the students will be able to continue their interests as they left off from last year with the exception of 2 required projects, a clay project and a shoe sculpture. Following these projects they will select projects of their choice after a student/teacher conference in which each student will document learning goals and make concrete plans.
Mobile, clay stamp, plaster sculpture, shoe sculpture, carving, basketry, knotting, beadwork, batik, glass etching, Japanese cards, metal tooling, leather, block printing, clay (review of materials and safety, clay construction using 3 methods), other crafts of the student’s own choice.
