8th Grade American History - Syllabus and Guidelines

 

To develop an appreciation for and knowledge of the history of the United Stated of America.

 

Text: Creating America, Garcia, Ogle, Risinger and Stevos, McDougal Littell. (2007)

 

Materials:

 

1.  Students will need a spiral notebook, pencil or pen and their textbook each day. A set of colored pencils or markers may be helpful from time to time.

 

Expectations:

 

1. All daily work, projects and tests will be completed as assigned.

 

2. Be an active and constructive participant in daily discussion and small group work.

 

3.  Conduct yourself in a manner that is respectful of yourself and others.

 

Grading:

 

1.  Mid-term, quarter and semester grades as outlined in the North Iowa Middle School Student Handbook.

 

2. Test and quizzes 60%, daily assignments 30%, participation and projects 10%.
