Larry D. Hill serves as the Superintendent and Elementary Principal at the North Iowa Community Schools. Hill assumed his current duties in 1997. Prior to being Superintendent, Hill was Principal at the North Iowa Middle School, served as Elementary Principal and Curriculum Coordinator for Buffalo Center-Rake-Lakota, Titonka, and Thompson Schools, and was a educational consultant at Northern Trails Area Education Agency. Mr. Hill enjoyed seventeen years as a classroom teacher and coach prior to his administrative duties.
Mr. Hill has been married to Rebecca for 34 years. Their four children, Carrie, Christopher, Jennifer, and Stephanie, are all North Iowa graduates.
Mr. Hill did his undergraduate work at Waldorf College and Minnesota State University at Mankato. He has done his Masters, Specialist and Doctoral Degree work at Drake University. Mr. Hill serves on several state boards and advisory councils and was honored in 2005 as Iowa’s Superintendent of the Year.
Mr. Hill has dedicated his professional and personal life to service and believes the best gift we can give the future is to simply “Leave it better than we found it.” Hill places high value on his church, family, and community and desires to make the school experience a positive and rewarding for all students and employees.
